Like every great story, it starts with a great family and tradition. In this case, it all starts with John Gentry Madison. Madison was a real estate developer, contractor, and a jack of all trades who retired to follow his love for thoroughbred race horses. After breeding horses from all over the country, one colt showed great promise and earned his namesake.

John Gentry Madison took his son, Gary Dale Madison to Kentucky to buy his first racehorse. After returning with that first horse, Tanoval, he collected bloodlines from all over the country and began breeding the horses on the family farm. Years later, with his namesake horse, Gentry, came the big winning streak. Unfortunately, just as Gentry was gaining stride, John Gentry Madison passed away, and along with it, the family horse farm. To honor his grandfather, John David Madison (who goes by JD) named his bourbon, and later his hotel after his Grandfather’s legacy and prized thoroughbred horse. He has created a hotel and a bourbon to mirror his grandfather's standards, and hopes to take proceeds from the bourbon to rebuild his family horse farm. Thank you for stopping by and learning more about our rich history and story.
